Institutional Development (ID)

It aims to strengthen and mainstream MSE development within support institutions countrywide and contribute to the creation of a favourable environment for growth of rural MSEs. At the regional level, REP is supporting the establishment and functioning of Regional Committees on MSE promotion (RECOMEP) based at the RCC. At the district level, REP is supporting the mainstreaming of the Sub-Committee on Micro and Small Scale Enterprises (MSE) Promotion, as well as the effective implementation of the Department of Trade and Industry (DOTI) within the DA structure. At the regional level, the various Regional Coordinating Councils (RCC) have been supported to set up Regional Committees on Micro and Small Scale Enterprises Promotion (RECOMEP). This Committee is co-chaired by the Regional Minister and the RCC’s Chief Director. The national and regional offices of NBSSI and ARB Apex Bank are being strengthened to ensure implementation and intensive technical backstopping.
